I have officially ended my employment with a company based in Subang yesterday. It was a difficult decision I took after given long thought and several calculation and advice from various people.
The working environment changed when the company did a restructuring. Many good colleagues left (with a big amount of money 😛) and we suffer emotionally with the sudden organisation changes.
Our usual life continues, yet the anxiety and the feeling of not knowing what will happen next took a toll on us. Left us with no other choice, we came up with two units – the leader and the follower. As the majority is the follower, we put our trust, faith and support to some capable staff step up as our leaders to lead, guide and unite us as a team. It went well…
…but just for a little while.
Hiring Wrong Talent
… was the main reason I left the company. All went well until the company announced the return of someone who just 1-month left the company and re-hired for unknown reason.
There was a rumour that the person did not blend well with the new company’s culture. And that person was absolutely a wrong talent that until this date, made the team suffer in silent.
Hiring the wrong talent can be a liability to a company. I started to came late to work, procrastinate work hours, find excuses to going out of office, being calculative and not willing to do more tasks, could not stand up for my team, I have had it enough.
I felt miserable day after day and I have forgotten my career direction. I was not ambituous as I used to be. I got to put a stop to it.
By the time this post was published, I have yet to receive my final letter and salary from the company. So I wrote to higher management as a last resort.
Thankfully, another job offer came during my difficult time. I sealed and secured the job within a week. More on this soon. 😊
