Believe it or not this is my all-time favourite subject to talk about.

At the moment, I have 2 debts to be settled and in total of RM15,000. I also on the job hunt for a better life. I promised myself to settle at least 1 debt before I leave the company.

I came across this Dave Ramsey’s website and decided to follow his advise:

Follow Dave Ramsey’s 7 Baby Steps to Financial Peace

  1. Baby Step 1: $1,000 cash in a beginner emergency fund – √ checked!
  2. Baby Step 2: Use the debt snowball to pay off all your debt but the house – 2 debts on the way baby! RM15,000 expected settled less than 24 months.
  3. Baby Step 3: A fully funded emergency fund of 3 to 6 months of expenses – I never failed to save some money every month but my car always took that money away; service/repair/etc. Anyway, I still save money for my wedding next year.
  4. Baby Step 4: Invest 15% of your household income into retirement
  5. Baby Step 5: Start saving for college
  6. Baby Step 6: Pay off your home early
  7. Baby Step 7: Build wealth and give generously

I can’t continue with Step 4 if I didn’t complete Step 2 and 3. So, I will update from time to time on my progress in achieving financial peace. Don’t get bored with me rambling on financial matters because I never get tired of this topic. 🙂
